Swiss Watch Surge
The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) reported Tuesday that total exports for 2007 reached a record $14.8 billion US, growing 16.2 percent compared with the previous year. The leading markets in order were Hong Kong, the United States, and France. Overall, 170,000 more Swiss watches were exported in 2007 than 2006. As has been the case for several years running, high-end watches fueled the surge, according to the FH.
